MCA Lead Follow-Up: Call, Text and Email Templates
Call, voicemail, text and email templates for MCA lead follow-up, set in a 14-day sequence with consent reminders, opt-out language and the phrases to keep out of every script.
Good MCA lead follow-up runs about two weeks across calls, texts and emails. Every touch names your company and reminds the merchant when they asked about funding, every text offers a STOP opt-out, and every email carries an unsubscribe link and a postal address. LoanLeads.io delivers MCA leads with TCPA consent captured, and these templates help your team follow up clearly and honor opt-outs fast.
What should an MCA lead follow-up sequence look like?
An MCA follow-up sequence should spread a handful of calls, texts and emails over roughly 14 days, front-loaded while the request is fresh. The aim is to reach the owner, collect bank statements and either make an offer or learn the need has passed.
| Day | Touch | Goal |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | Call within minutes, voicemail if missed, then text 1 | Reach the owner while the request is fresh |
| 0 | Email 1 | Put your name, company and next step in writing |
| 1 | Call, morning in the merchant's time zone | Second live attempt |
| 2 | Text 2 | Ask for bank statements |
| 4 | Call and email 2 | Statements and a time to talk |
| 7 | Call, late afternoon | Try a different day part |
| 10 | Text 3 | Check whether timing has changed |
| 14 | Email 3 | Close the file politely or set a future date |
Keep daily call attempts low. Florida, Oklahoma and Maryland cap same-subject solicitation calls at three in 24 hours, and other states have their own limits. Our guide to the best time to call MCA leads covers legal hours and day parts.
A strong sequence matters because the lead only opens the door. Joseph Antony, an MCA lead buyer, told LoanLeads.io after his first week that his reps were satisfied with what they were working:
"I'm happy. My team is happy. They don't complain about leads."
When the leads stop being the problem, your follow-up becomes the difference between a contact and a funded file.
Call and voicemail scripts for MCA leads
Open every call by reminding the merchant of their own request. A business owner who filled out a form an hour ago may have forgotten the site's name, and a clear reminder separates you from a cold call.
Live call opener: "Hi {First name}, this is {Rep} with {Company}. You asked about working capital for {Business} on {site or date}, and I'm following up on that. Do you have five minutes now, or is there a better time today?"
If you record calls, add a recording disclosure right after your name. Some states require every party's consent to record.
Qualifying bridge: "So I can tell you what is realistic, can I ask about your average monthly deposits and how long you have been in business?"
Voicemail 1 (day 0): "Hi {First name}, {Rep} from {Company}, calling about the business funding request you sent us today. Call me back at {number}. I'll also send a text so you have my details. If you would rather not hear from us, just let me know and I'll take you off our list."
Voicemail 2 (day 4): "{First name}, {Rep} at {Company} again. Once I see your last few months of business bank statements, I can walk you through what an advance could look like. My number is {number}."
Keep voicemails under 30 seconds and say the callback number twice if you speak fast.
Text message templates with opt-out language
Every follow-up text should name your company, give the reason for the message and include a way to opt out. Send texts only where you have consent to do so, and register your texting program with your carrier or platform as required.
Text 1 (day 0, after a missed call): "Hi {First name}, this is {Rep} at {Company}. You asked about funding for {Business} today. Is there a good time for a quick call? Reply STOP to opt out."
Text 2 (day 2): "{First name}, to show you real options I need your last 3 months of business bank statements. Want a secure upload link? {Rep}, {Company}. Reply STOP to opt out."
Text 3 (day 10): "Hi {First name}, still looking for capital for {Business}? If the timing changed, reply LATER and I'll check back next month. {Company}. Reply STOP to opt out."
Opt-out confirmation: "{Company}: You're unsubscribed and won't get more texts from us."
Under the FCC's consent revocation rules, a one-time confirmation text sent within five minutes of a revocation request is presumed to fall within the merchant's prior consent, as long as it contains no marketing and is the only extra message. Keep it to one plain sentence.
Email templates for MCA lead follow-up
Follow-up emails should have a subject line that matches the content, your real company name, a physical postal address and a working unsubscribe link. The CAN-SPAM Act makes no exception for business-to-business email, requires opt-outs to be honored within 10 business days and requires the opt-out method to keep working for at least 30 days after you send.
Email 1 (day 0). Subject: Your funding request for {Business}
"Hi {First name}, thanks for asking about working capital for {Business} on {date}. I'm {Rep} at {Company}. To give you real options, I'll need your last three months of business bank statements, which you can send here: {secure link}. Or reply with a good time to talk. {Signature, phone, postal address}. Unsubscribe: {link}"
Email 2 (day 4). Subject: Bank statements for your {Business} request
"Hi {First name}, a quick follow-up. Once I have your recent statements, I can explain what an advance would cost and how remittances would work, in plain numbers. {link}. {Signature, postal address}. Unsubscribe: {link}"
Email 3 (day 14). Subject: Should I close your file?
"Hi {First name}, I haven't been able to reach you, so I'll close your request for now. If you'd like me to check back on a specific date, reply with it. {Signature, postal address}. Unsubscribe: {link}"
Which words should stay out of every MCA template?
Keep out any phrase that promises an outcome or misdescribes the product. In 2024 the FTC extended its Telemarketing Sales Rule ban on misrepresentations to business-to-business calls, and state disclosure laws govern how financing offers are described.
- "You're approved" or "guaranteed." Nobody is approved before underwriting.
- "Loan" for an advance. As of 2026, an MCA is generally structured as a purchase of future receivables, not a loan. Say "advance" or "funding".
- Rates in a cold text. Several states require specific cost disclosures when you make an offer. See our guide to commercial financing disclosure laws.
- "No credit check" unless it is literally true for every funder you place with.
- Fake urgency. "Offer expires tonight" on a file you have not underwritten is a misrepresentation.
Have counsel review your final scripts. These templates are a starting point, not legal advice.
How should your team handle opt-outs and revoked consent?
Treat any clear request to stop as an opt-out, record it at once and stop that channel within the legal deadline. The FCC's rules let a person revoke consent by any reasonable means, and replying "stop", "quit", "end", "revoke", "opt out", "cancel" or "unsubscribe" to a text counts as revocation. Requests must be honored within a reasonable time not exceeding ten business days.
A separate FCC provision would make a revocation on one type of message apply to all of a caller's robocalls and robotexts on unrelated matters. Its effective date has been delayed to January 31, 2027, and the FCC has signaled it may change the rule before then.
The safest operating habit is simpler than the rules:
- Tag the opt-out in your CRM within minutes, on the contact record, not just the campaign.
- Suppress the number and email across every sequence and every rep.
- Log the date, channel and wording of the request.
- Train reps to accept spoken requests on calls, such as "take me off your list".
Confirm current requirements with counsel, since consent rules are still moving in 2026.

What MCA lead buyers say
Two real LoanLeads.io buyers, in their own words.
“Yeah, I'm really impressed with the aged.”
“My team is very happy with your leads. So that's why I want to personally call and inform you that. We'll do the same mix, 50-50, but we'll just double the volume. I'm happy. My team is happy. They don't complain about leads.”
Questions on this topic
How many times should I follow up with an MCA lead?
Around eight touches over two weeks works as a starting point: several calls, three texts and three emails, spaced across different days and day parts. Respect state call caps, such as three same-subject calls in 24 hours in Florida, Oklahoma and Maryland, and stop immediately when a merchant opts out.
Do I need consent to text an MCA lead?
Consent rules apply to many marketing texts, particularly those sent with automated systems. LoanLeads.io captures TCPA consent on every lead, but you should confirm the consent covers your texting method and keep the record. Include opt-out language in every text and confirm current requirements with counsel as of 2026.
What opt-out words do I have to honor?
Under FCC rules, a text reply of stop, quit, end, revoke, opt out, cancel or unsubscribe counts as revoking consent, and other reasonable ways of saying stop count too. Honor requests within a reasonable time not exceeding ten business days. Many shops suppress the number within minutes to avoid any doubt.
Does CAN-SPAM apply to emails sent to business owners?
Yes. The FTC states the CAN-SPAM Act makes no exception for business-to-business email. Your follow-up emails need accurate header and subject lines, a valid physical postal address and a clear way to opt out, and you must honor opt-outs within 10 business days.
Can I call an MCA advance a loan in my scripts?
Avoid it. An MCA is generally structured as a purchase of future receivables rather than a loan, and calling it a loan can misdescribe the product and its legal treatment. Use words like advance or funding, and let your disclosure documents describe the cost in the form your state requires.
Should I send a confirmation text after someone texts STOP?
You may send one, and it is wise to keep it short. FCC rules presume a single confirmation text sent within five minutes of the request falls within prior consent, provided it contains no marketing and no further messages follow. After that, send nothing more on that channel.
